Adding the right applications to your business can streamline operations, create efficient processes and save you time and money.  But where to start?  There are 1,000’s of applications out there, many solving the same or similar issues.  Each month, we research, trial, and review dozens of applications; constantly searching for the ideal solutions for our clients.  We have an internal rule that any application we recommend must solve at least three problems.  

Each month, members of the MATAX team pick their favorite of the month.  Here are the selections for June 2021.

 

Cheng’s Pick:

Avalara

  • Cloud-based tax compliance platform that automates reporting, filing, and documentation maintenance

Multitouch

Multitouch is a great time-saving tool for Mac users.

  • It allows you to create complex actions with simple gestures on your trackpad or magic mouse. You can also create custom keyboard shortcuts to assign complex multiple keystroke functions to a single key.

  • Some of my favorite quick time-saving functions through Multitouch are having Copy, Paste, & Paste Values assigned to single buttons all above the Number Pad on my keyboard. This allows me to quickly move data between locations without having to shift my hand while leaving my other hand on the mouse. On the Magic Mouse, I’m able to use a 2 fingered click to create a “middle click” function. This allows me to easily open links as a new tab instead of redirecting me from my current page.

Pipedrive is a CRM tool, with just the right amount of details, for leads and prospects. Good for starting and tracking opportunities with both new and existing customers; streamlines sales process and provides valuable insights.

  • Track all communications and easily schedule next steps – calls, meetings, tasks, emails. Get auto-reminders

  • Goal tracking, conversion rates, and other monitors to keep you moving toward the sale

GoCardless

An easy, cost-effective way to collect both recurring and one-off payments from your customers via ACH

  • Payments made in U.S. currency, as well as the collection of international payments from 30 countries, settled all in your home currency

  • With automatic payments, you know when the money will be pulled, improving cash flow

  • Reduces failed payments; if any payments do fail, you are notified

  • Fully integrates with Xero; payments are reconciled automatically to Xero invoices

  • It's a simple process for your customers as well. They just complete a one-time online authorization form allowing you to automatically debit their bank account whenever your Xero invoices are due. They will be notified when payment is pulled.

  • Transaction charges are very competitive in comparison to other payment gateways
